Fiji Airways Flying Fijians loose head prop Eroni Mawi expects a tough encounter against Tonga in the Pacifika test match next weekend.

Mawi says playing against Tonga is always a challenge as they also look to improve on their set-pieces before heading into the Rugby World Cup.

As the team continues with preparations for the tournament, one man is ready to defy all odds hoping to get a spot in the final team.

Speaking to FBC Sports, Mawi says being part of the 32 man squad has been a learning experience and he is confident in representing Fiji at the World Cup.

“Being chosen has really being a great honor, didn’t expect it cause there was a lot of competition going around for props, but to be chosen is a really great honor and a challenge”.

The 23-year-old Lau native says playing at prop is not an easy position as he has to put in the extra effort to maintain his spot in the team.

“It’s not an easy position as most props are competing with me, but it’s going to be challenging as everyone is fighting for a spot”.

Meanwhile, halfback Henry Seniloli, who sustained a minor injury to his left ankle during training, is on the road to recovery and will be fit to play by the end of the week before departing for New Zealand.

“I sustained a minor injury during training and I’ll be fit to play by the end of the week”.
