Waisea Nayacalevu still remembers when he was taken off the field due to injury in the last Rugby World Cup against Australia.
Nayacalevu is one of the players expected to make the final 23 member squad to meet the Wallabies next weekend in Sapporo, Japan.
The France-based player says he was quite sad after exiting the game early against Australia in 2015 and is thankful for the opportunity to represent Fiji in his second World Cup.
‘I was lucky in the last World Cup I was injured in the second minute of the game against Australia it was a bit sad for me I’m happy to be back and mix with the boys, a bunch of talent and looking forward to it (World Cup)’.
Meanwhile, Flying Fijians captain Dominiko Waqaniburotu is thankful to Akita City in Japan for hosting them in the past week.
This is before their first 2019 Rugby World Cup match next weekend.
Fiji Rugby Union General Manager Rugby Geoff Webster says Akita now wants to host the Fiji 7s teams next year.
The Flying Fijians will meet Australia at 4:45pm next Saturday.
