Momo suspended for six weeks

Vodafone Flying Fijian Under-20 player Epeli Momo has been required to attend a hearing before a Judicial Officer after receiving a red card.

The red card was issued citing a dangerous tackle in game 1 of the 2019 Oceania Rugby U20s Championship against New Zealand.

The hearing is in accordance with the rules of the tournament after Momo entered an early guilty plea.

Momo has been suspended for six weeks up to and including 1st June.

Momo will be suspended for match 4 against Australia this afternoon and match 5 against Japan on Saturday and four provincial matches on 11th, 18th and 25th May and 1st June.

He will be free to play at the 2019 U20 World Rugby Championship in Argentina where Fiji are due to play on the 5th of June.
