Flying Fijians Hooker Sam Matavesi [right]

Fiji Airways Flying Fijians Hooker Sam Matavesi has given reassurance that he will be fit to play against Tonga in a Pacifika Challenge match in New Zealand.

Matavesi picked up an ankle injury last Saturday while training with the team.

He says he will begin training proper with the team by tomorrow.

Matavesi says they are preparations are going well for the team.

“As you see every game we have improved on certain things, and that’s the plan now. I think there’s thirty days to the world cup now, for the Australia game. So we still got a lot of time to improve. We had a meeting yesterday morning and as a group we are here now, and we have got to be there.”

The Flying Fijians will meet Tonga in a Pacifika Challenge match on Saturday, the 31st of August.
