Fiji Rugby Union is expected to make a major announcement during its awards night at the Grand Pacific Hotel on Friday.

FRU Chief Executive John O’Connor says they cannot elaborate more on it but adds it’s something on the future of the union.

“There will be big announcement which we are keeping under wraps. On the night only those who will be present will be able to witness some new announcement as part of the reforms with FRU and changes taking place going forward.”

Meanwhile, Fiji 7s skipper Kalione Naosoko, Jerry Tuwai and former winger Eroni Sau have been nominated for the 7s player of the year.

Flying Fijians lock Leone Nakarawa, Semi Radradra and Alivereti Veitokani have been nominated for the 15’s player of the year.

The awards night begins at 7pm at GPH on Friday.
