Fiji Warriors head coach, Senirusi Seruvakula has named Fiji Airways Flying Fijian scrum-half, Frank Lomani to captain the team in its match against Tonga-A at ANZ Stadium in Suva tomorrow.
Seruvakula also named an exciting line-up to take on a tough Tongan outfit in what is expected to be a physical battle between the two Pacific Island sides.
Caleb Muntz is set to play alongside Lomani in the halves since his return to Fiji from NZ.
“We saw Caleb last year at the Brisbane 10s and earmarked him on our identified talent list. We’ve been monitoring his progress and since he joined us in camp he’s worked hard, made a huge effort to be part of the team and I’m happy with the way he’s slotted into our mold.”
Flying Fijian and Fijian Drua teammates Eroni Mawi, Mesu Dolokoto and Junior Tagi will feature in the forwards’ line-up.
The backs are made up of Peni Naulago, Mosese Voka, John Dyer newcomers Saimoni Uluiunakauvadra and Ratu Meli Nabura.
The Warriors have named plenty of depth off the bench with Flying Fijian hooker Veremalua Vugakoto and Vodafone Fiji Under 20s captain Raikabula Momoedonu among the talent waiting to impact in the series opener.
The Swire Shipping Fiji Warriors meet Tonga A at 5pm, tomorrow at ANZ Stadium, Suva.
Meanwhile, Junior Japan meets Samoa earlier at 2.30pm tomorrow at the same venue.
