Ireland moved atop Pool A with 16 points ahead of host Japan’s game against Scotland on Sunday.

Scotland needs to win that game to have any chance of progressing, but will have to wait until World Rugby assesses conditions in the wake of Typhoon Hagibis before knowing if the game will go ahead at Yokohama.

Ireland Captain Rory Best says they knew that after the Japan game 10 points will get them through to the quarters.

We’ve got that in the last two games. We knew how good Samoa are we knew that they would come with no pressure on their shoulders, they would come at us both in attack and defense but we stood up.

Ireland are currently on top of Pool A. They are through to the quarter finals.
