FRU names 28-man Fiji Warriors for WRPC

The Fiji Rugby Union has released the 28-man Fiji Warriors squad to defend the World Rugby Pacific Challenge which starts next Friday.

FRU Chief Executive John O’Connor says 16 of the 28 players are previously uncapped for the Warriors including seven members of the Vodafone Fiji under 20s squad and eight from the Fiji Airways Drua.

The WRPC is an under 23 competition with teams allowed to field up to five over 23 players.

Fiji Airways Flying Fijians Mosese Voka, Frank Lomani, Veremalua Vugakoto, Eroni Mawi and Mesulame Dolokoto are all included in the squad.

The Warriors will be coached by Senirusi Seruvakula and assisted by Kele Leawere.

The side will march back into camp on Monday ahead of next Friday’s opening round against Tonga A.

The Warriors will then play Junior Japan on the 12th of March before finishing the tournament against Samoa A on the 16th March.

All matches will be played at ANZ Stadium, Suva.

Tuesday 12th March
2.30pm:  Samoa A v Tonga A
5.00pm: Swire Shipping Fiji Warriors v Jnr Japan

Saturday 16th March
2.30pm:  Jnr Japan v Tonga A
5.00pm: Swire Shipping Fijian Warriors v Samoa A
