The income generated from the Fiji Rugby branded 2021 calendar will go towards the Fiji 7s teams preparing for the Tokyo Olympic Games in Japan next year.

Fiji Rugby Union chief executive John O’Connor says with the threat of COVID-19 to preparations, they have decided to explore other options in-order to support Fiji’s preparation of defending its gold medal.

Ten thousand calendars selling at $3 each are ready to go on sale after FBC’s very own radio station Bula FM, Powerade, Fiji Water, Swire Shipping, Subrails, EduCare, Fiji Bitter, The Hot Bread Kitchen and Mobil assisted with the production costs.”

Fans can purchase the 2021 calendar either from Rugby House, Mobil Service Stations, Hot Bread Kitchen or at any of the Subrail’s outlet within Viti Levu by end of this week.

Fiji 7s coach Gareth Baber says it is a timely boost as they are looking at all kinds of avenues to help them put together the best Fijian team to take part at next year’s Olympic Games.

“We do definitely need the support of the country and we know that going and winning a gold medal and what it represents for the country of Fiji, and I know it’s not easy to ask again but we know with the support and love of the fans we have in Fiji we would be in a good space to be able to put that defense in”.

The national coach is hopeful fans can contribute in some small way to help their Olympic journey.
