Flying Fijians receives an amazing reception-Koto

Flying Fijians Cultural leader at the Rugby World Cup Sunia Koto is amazed at how the Japanese fans in Akita have responded to the team.

Koto who was part of the 2007, 2011 and 2015 World Cups says they are enjoying their time in Akita.

He says the memories of Japan will remain with them for a long time.

The 39 year old believes it’s great to share their culture as well with the people of Akita.

‘We’ve had an amazing reception by the Akita public going around the city and seeing banners all over the place for the past 24 hours we’ve felt at home with the warm reception’

Meanwhile, 10 days remain before the Flying Fijians meet the Wallabies in their first 2019 Rugby World Cup pool match.

A good start to their campaign is what Fiji needs according to Head Coach John McKee.¤

The Wallabies will ramp up preparations today after arriving in Japan on Monday night.

Head Coach Michael Cheika says they’ve had issues off the field but it has brought the team even closer.

The Flying Fijians will spend the next 5 days in Akita before heading to Sapporo where they play the Wallabies next Saturday.
