Flying Fijians step up preparations in Japan

The Flying Fijians will play a warm-up game against a Japanese club today.

With the Rugby World Cup just 9 days away, head coach John McKee says the team has been working hard since arriving in Japan.

‘Monday was quite a hard day’s training in preparation against Australia in less than 2 weeks the boys have been really working hard so far we just emphasized to them the importance of putting in two big sessions today before travel Thursday to Abashiri’.

The Flying Fijians presented the State Governor of Akita in Japan with a signed jersey which was presented by Head coach John McKee.

Governor Norihisa Satake said he was so honored to have the team in Akita and also spoke highly of former Flying Fijians flanker Setareki Tawake and Josua Kerevi who have been great ambassadors for Fiji in Akita.

The governor said he visited Fiji 3 years ago and that he enjoyed himself thoroughly especially the fishing.

The Flying Fijians will play the Wallabies next Saturday.
