The Vodafone under-20 side has received a major boost after roping in Fiji Airways Flying Fijians scrum coach Alan Muir as they prepare for the Oceania Championship in Australia later this month.
Head Coach Kele Leawere says Muir will be very useful to the side with the knowledge he brings with him.
He says they know how tough their arch rivals New Zealand and Australia will be, and with the help of Muir he hopes the players will be equipped with techniques in the scrumming area.
“He’s the technical coach for the Flying Fijians for scrum and we know that will need his expertise especially coming up with teams like Australia and New Zealand in the Oceania tournament.”
Fiji plays New Zealand in its first game at 7pm on the 26th of April then faces Australia four days after.
They take on Japan in their final match at 7pm on the 4th of May.
