After a very physical encounter with Samoa during the Pacific Nations Cup, the Fiji Airways Flying Fijians are up for another physical encounter against Tonga.

Coach John Mckee says he’s preparing the boys for a battle.

It is known that like Samoa, Tonga will bring a lot of physicality to the table.

Coach John Mckee told us what their focus will be for this match.

“What’s really important for us now that it’s our last game before we play Australia so it’s really important that we get our combinations going and we work on some of the things that we will work on against Australia. Yes we will have to match the physicality of the Tongan team but we also want to impose our game, we want to build on the good work we have been doing in training and probably in PNC we lacked a little bit of rhythm in attack so we will be looking for our attack to be a little bit more patient and reap the awards with some tries.”

Mckee says the match against Tonga is Fiji’s chance to execute their plans in a game situation.

The Flying Fijians will take on Tonga in their Pacifika Challenge match on the 31st of this month.
