England could be in trouble with the Rugby World Cup judiciary despite the United States having a player sent off in their game last night.

Former Blues utility back Piers Francis is likely to come under the spotlight for a tackle in England’s 45-7 win, which saw the US end with 14 players after flanker John Quill was red-carded for a shoulder charge on England’s Owen Farrell.

Francis hit USA fullback Will Hooley in a tackle after kickoff that seemed to show the England player’s shoulder directly struck Hooley’s jaw.
