Debate continues as to whether the Crusaders should continue to use their name given the link to religious wars between Christians and Muslims in the middle-ages.

Crusaders management wants to talk to all interested party including Muslim groups before making any firm decision.

“We want to go through a process, we want to let the people grief and we want to make sure that we give them time and we can talk to the people represented to give the information we need to make a decision and do the right thing. At the moment this is bigger than rugby so those decisions will happen in time but at the moment we’re just trying to give everyone space where they need it.”

Crusaders players have been in the community supporting those affected by the Christchurch terror attack on Friday.
