A relentless but blunt performance from the Queensland Reds has ended their Super Rugby finals hope as they went down 13-19 to the Chiefs last night.

Brad Thorn’s men dominated large chunks of the match but struggled to break the strong Chiefs defence.

The Chiefs won the game in the first half of the match scoring three tries to lead the Reds 19-6 at the breather.

Chiefs failed to score another try in the second half while the Reds managed to ground a consolation try in the 56th minute of play.

The Queensland Reds haven’t reached the finals since 2013, which was the last time they won a game in New Zealand.

In other matches, the Brumbies beat the Bulls 22-10.
