Fiji second-row Taniela Ramasibana dots down for their opening try against Wales in their Pool A match
The Baby Flying Fijians is one of the four teams facing the threat of being relegated to the Junior World Rugby under 20 Trophy.
This is after the final round of pool matches this morning where Fiji lost to Wales 28-44.
Fiji, Georgia, Scotland and Italy will now contest the positions from ninth to 12th.
The national under 20 side will face Georgia on Monday in a must-win match to stay in the hunt.
Georgia defeated Scotland this morning 17-12.
Fiji have been out of the Junior World Championship for five years and got back to the competition after winning the Junior World Trophy in Romania last year.
After this morning’s loss to Wales, national under 20 captain Taniela Soqonawasaloa says they have improved on certain areas.
Meanwhile, Argentina meets Australia in one of the semifinals while South Africa take on France.
New Zealand failed to make the semifinals and they will face Wales in the fifth place semi-final.
