Former Nadroga winger Alivereti Raka will feature for France at the Rugby World Cup

Raka’s name was announced this morning as part of the 37 member squad.

The 24 year old who was born in Nakorovatu, Naitasiri and studied at Wainimala Secondary School has been under the French radar for over two years now.

He played 7’s rugby for Tovolea and Daveta before making his debut for Nadroga in 2014 against Vatukoula in the Skipper Cup where he scored a try.

Virimi Vakatawa and Noa Nakaitaci didn’t make the World Cup squad.

But Raka’s inclusion isn’t the biggest news news in French rugby as experienced players, center Mathieu Bastareaud, scrum-half Morgan Parra and winger Teddy Thomas have been left out.

France is pooled with Argentina, USA, Tonga and England at the Rugby World Cup.
