Parramatta Eels winger Maika Sivo has been awarded the Eels NRL Rookie of the Year title.

Sivo thanked his team for helping him throughout his first season with the Eels.

He adds that a career highlight he would never forget was having his dad over for the first time to watch him play in the NRL.

Latrell Mitchell of the Roosters is leading the NRL top scorers list with 18 points while Sivo is second with 17.

The Eels will face the Sea Eagles at 8pm this Friday.
