Fiji National Rugby League Coach Brandon Costin says their referees need more game in order to improve their skills in officiating tournaments in the country.
Costin says there are a lot of coaches and referees in the country, and they are working on providing more games for these officials to help them develop their trade.
“We’ve got lots of willing people that want to coach and we’ve got a lot of quality coaches on the Island. We’ve got lots of quality referees as well. I think the one issue that we had is we don’t have enough games. So our referees can only improve week to week where we’d love to see them being able to referee school games on a Monday or a Tuesday. We need to be able to get more games for our referees so they can improve.”
Costin says it is important to help these referee’s for the growth of the entire sport in Fiji.
