It was one try apiece after the opening 40 minutes, to show how tight this match was shaping up to be.
The Broncos led 10-6 at halftime.
Fijian born Eels winger Maika Sivo ended a wonderful sweeping movement on the left side, for his 17th try of the year, while David Fifita scored in the next playoff after a Darius Boyd bust.
Boyd kept the magic flowing scoring just two minutes into the second half to take the scoreboard out to 16-6.

The Eels were trailing 16-6 in the nail-biting encounter and scored two quick tries in the last quarter of the match.
Brisbane could have faltered when Andrew McCullough was sent to the sin-bin for lifting the leg of Sivo after referees had called ‘held’. But the Eels didn’t capitalise against the 12-man home side.
Eels winger Blake Ferguson withstood the cover tackle from Alex Glenn – off a brilliant cut-out pass from prop Junior Paulo – to place the ball just inside the corner post and reduce the margin to six (16-10) before Kane Evans final try to level scores to 16-16.
It’s hard to tell what was better here: the ball from big Junior Paulo or the finish from Blake Ferguson? ?#NRLBroncosEels 16-10 ?#TelstraPremiership pic.twitter.com/c6yb3aqT33
