Fiji Bati and Parramatta Eels forward Kane Evans will miss this weekend’s week 1 finals match against the Broncos.

Evans has failed in his bid to have his high tackle charge for a hit on Manly’s Brad Parker downgraded.

Evans was seeking a downgrade from a grade two to a grade one for his hit on Parker.

Kane Evans’s counsel Nick Ghabar argued that the first point of contact was made on Parker’s left arm and the Eels prop bounced up from there.

However, the NRL counsel successfully argued that Evans attempted a “high risk, marginal option” tackle while Parker “lost consciousness by the time his head hit the ground”.

The Eels will host the Broncos on Sunday at 6pm.

On Friday at 9:45pm the Roosters play Rabbitohs.

There will be two games played on Saturday with the Raiders meeting the Storm at 7:30pm and at 9:45pm the Sea Eagles takes on the Sharks.
