The Fiji National Rugby League and the Kaiviti Silktails Club are expected to make a few major announcements soon.
This is after both parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding last week regarding the local side that will be playing in the Ron Massey Cup which is a semi-professional development level competition in New South Wales.
One of the initiatives which is expected to be announced is the establishment of a rugby league academy in the country.
The local side that will play in the Ron Massey Cup will be known as the Kaiviti Silktails and it’s Chief Executive Colin Fraser says even the rugby league staff will benefit from the major breakthrough of the sport in the country.
‘Developing the staff everything will be lifted we’ll be able to form an academy and we’ll be able to form a center of excellence there’s a lot more things to announce in the coming months’.
The Kaiviti Silktails will feature in next year’s Ron Massey Cup which is a step closer to playing in the New South Wales Cup.
