FNRL hopes to attain first gold in Pacific Games

The Fiji National Rugby League hopes to win its first-ever gold medal at the Pacific Games in Samoa this year.

FNRL has selected 25 players who will represent the national nines team in the games.

Team manager Tevita Korosaya says the team will start a series of weekend camp next month before selecting the final 20 players.

“Our schedule starts February where we’ll have our first-weekend camp then we’ll miss a week and then continue until April or May. We will definitely have our full camp in May.”

Fiji finished fourth in 2015 losing 16-14 to Tonga.

The Pacific Games will be held on the 7th to the 20th of July in Apia, Samoa.
