Fiji Bati begin preparation for RLWC

The Fiji Bati side has begun preparing for the next Rugby League World Cup in 2021.

Fiji Bati Assistant Coach Joe Rabele says they have been eyeing players from local league tournaments with some already making it to the list.

Fiji Bati Assistant Coach Joe Rabele says there are many talents arising from local league teams around the country and they need to be exposed.

These skills and talents will be trained and roped in to the Fiji Bati squad where they will be put to the test in their first test match this year against Papua New Guinea in March.

“In February we’ll be preparing for the Pacific Games after the Pacific Games we have a few games in October and November – few test matches against Samoa and Tonga and PNG in March. This year is a good year for us that we have a few games to prepare for.”

The Bati’s Assistant Coach says it will not be an easy journey for new players as they will have to fight for top spots against overseas based players.

Meanwhile, the 2021 Rugby League World Cup will be held in England.
