The Fiji Bati team has jumped past their first hurdle in the 2019 Oceania Cup competition after they defeated Toa Samoa 44-18 in their first match.
Fiji showed dominance throughout the match.
Joe Lovodua, D’ryhs Miller, Viliame Kikau, Joseph Ratuvakacereivalu, Isaac Lumelume, Brayden Williame and Kevin Naiqama scored the tries for Fiji.
Captain Kevin Naiqama says their previous matches have been very beneficial as they have taken a lot of learning from them.

Naiqama says there are two scenarios to a match, its that they either win or they learn.
The Bati captain says he is proud of the performance displayed by the Fijian forwards.

Fiji will now take on Tonga next weekend.
A win against Tonga would mean that Fiji will progress to play against Tier 1 nations from next year.
