The Rewa football side has opened the Courts Inter District Championship on a high note thumping Dreketi 5-1.
Former Suva rep, Sairusi Nalaubu grabed a bravce of goals while Gabby Matanisiga, Epeli saukuru and Lorima Dau got a goal each.
Dreketi’s lone goal was scored by former Rewa rep, Usaia Tadu from the penalty spot.
Delta Tigers coach, Marika Rodu was pleased with the victory.
” We anticipated a tough match. The first match of any tournament is the hardest and that is what we expected. We are happy with the win but things are expected to change in our next match and we will prepare for that.”
Dreketi coach, Johan Leewai says they have a lot to take from today’s match.
”We played well in the first half. Our two players got injured in the first spell and I think that our players got really tired in the second spell but we will come out stronger in our second match.”
Nadi is currently playing Tavua, Ba takes on Labasa at 5.30pm and host Lautoka faces Suva at 7.30pm.
