Rewa beats Labasa 2-0

June 24, 2018 3:00 am

Labasa failed to secure any points in the Vodafone Premier League standings after losing to Rewa 2-0 this afternoon.

Mistakes and missed opportunities caused Labasa the game against a much stronger Rewa side.

Labasa Coach Nilesh Lal says they lost seven key players to double yellow cards and injuries prior to their two games this weekend.

Lal says he has had to put together a new and young team to play against Suva yesterday and Rewa today.

He adds, they were aiming to get at least get three points from the two games this weekend but they only managed one.

Rewa Coach Lorima Dau says after their nil-all draw with Dreketi yesterday, the team had a talk about their priorities, their target in the tournament and what needs to be done.

Dau says the outcome saw them win the game this afternoon.

Rewa’s first goal was netted by number 18 Sione Lutu in the 23rd minute of the first half.

In the 91st minute, number 15 Taione Kerevanua jotted down their second goal.
