Remain composed in Hong Kong says Boivert

March 22, 2012 7:02 pm

Fiji Rugby Union 15s coaching director Frank Boivert says the Fiji 7s team needs to stay composed and avoid retaliating to dirty tactics.

He says Fiji’s tendency to get carried away at the breakdowns which could prove to be their undoing at the Hong Kong 7s tournament starting today.

“I think it’s mainly concentration and being cool and composed. For the Nadroga players in the side, this is an area I tend to cover with them and they know the rules of what they can and should not do. The problem is that when the game heats up, while under pressure they lose their cool and they are not composed. This is the one area most top teams target and that is for us to lose focus and get angry which works for them and we end up losing. So hopefully the players will take everything in and not let tactics as such get the better of them.”
