Ravulo ready for new challenges

October 25, 2012 12:00 am

New Zealand-based Malakai Ravulo says the 30-member Flying Fijians rugby side for the Europe tour is a formidable one, which will spring surprises.

Ravulo is one of the survivors from the disastrous 2011 World Cup, but he says they are keen to take Fiji rugby back to the top.

And he believes there is no better time to take on England on November 14.

He adds the local-based players in the side will add another dimension against the top tier nations such as the Poms and Ireland A.

“I am pretty confident and like I said the boys will step up and the local boys will do the job of what is expected of them.”

Players currently in Fiji continue training in Suva before they depart next week to meet up with the Europe-based players.

Fiji plays England, Gloucester, Ireland A and Georgia in the end-of-the-year tour.
