Raiwaqa Flyers have once again established themselves as the champions of local touch rugby after winning the Fiji Touch rugby finals at Furnival Park over the weekend in both the men’s Super Premier and mixed categories.

They faced Browning Bombers in both finals.

Raiwaqa Flyers feature national reps Jitoko Lorima, Samuela Rareba and the Uluimoala brothers, Jone and Rusi.

Fiji Touch Association president Georgina Lasaqa says that although Bombers provided a stiff challenge, the Flyer’s experience enabled them to come out victorious.

“Flyers just proved that they are the better team on the day; they ended it on a high note for them. So basically they took out the men’s super premier and the mixed category division”.

In the men’s Super premier final, Flyers won 6-5 and in the mixed category, Flyers won 9-8 in extra time.

In the women’s final, Voltage beat Super Touch by 4-3, also in extra time.
Meanwhile, Lasaqa says that the association will have its awards night on 9th June.
