The Vodafone Flying Fijians squad for the June internationals will be named this afternoon with former national skipper Simon Raiwalui playing a leading role in player selection.
Head coach John McKee will name his first squad with a number of star set to get the nod.
Fiji takes on Italy, Samoa, Tonga and the Cook Islands next month.
FRU acting chief executive Berlin Kafoa says McKee has been communicating closely with a number of former reps.
“I think he has identified some potential assistants. Names like Mosese Rauluni, who can assist him. As all head coaches, he will identify his coaching team and submit to the board to endorse that. The board has actioned a couple of months ago, the appointment of Simon Raiwalui. That helps a lot as Simon tracks the Flying Fijians players in the Northern Hemisphere. So he is assisting John already on the consistency of our players in the Europe competition.”
The national squad will be announced at 4pm.
