Twenty-six year old military officer Peni Raidre is already looking forward to what this year’s rugby union season holds.

Raidre hopes representing and showcasing his best skills in Army Reds, during the Suva rugby union tens along with other local competitions will get him the green light for a second year stint with the Fijian Drua.

“I think its gonna benefit for Fiji Rugby because everyone is gonna try and put their level up for the NRC especially the skipper season its gonna put a lot of honors on this player to step up up and do much better to book a spot in the team and we cant confirm ourselves for the season next year.”

Raidre says he will do all his best this season to improve from last year’s NRC performance.

“Just to do much better from last year and improve and continue and what I did but am trying myself for the 15s team obviously if it comes around but for now I just love playing for the army team and obviously see what it comes after.”

Raidre has been chosen to represent the Suva Rygby team in the FRU Tens competition next weekend.
