Raiders defeat Wests Tigers 20-12

July 21, 2019 6:05 am

The Canberra Raiders have solidified their place in the NRL top four after holding on for a 20-12 victory over the Wests Tigers side last night.

Despite entering the game in 11th place the Tigers had the majority of the ball in the second half as they threw everything they had at Canberra.

However, despite not scoring a point in the second spell the Raiders showed they have the ability to grind out tough wins, as the home crowd of 15,656 celebrated the side’s 11th victory of the season.

In another match, three tries in the last ten minutes helped to deliver South Sydney a 30-18 NRL win over North Queensland in Townsville.

The visitors were behind for most of the second half but an inspired finale by representative forward Cam Murray sealed the result for the Rabbitohs.

Dane Gagai scored from a kick in the 71st minute and when Adam Reynolds converted the scores were level – but from there it was the Murray show.

In the matches today, the Titan take on the Storm at 4 pm while the Sea Eagles will battle the Eels at 6.05.
