Radrodro receives best player gong

Hard-running No. 8, Eremasi Radrodro was named the Nadroga Rugby Union ‘Player of the Year’ at the union’s awards night yesterday.

The former Fiji 7s extended squad member also scooped the ‘Farebrother Challenge Player of the Year’ award for his outstanding performance.

“I just started playing provincial rugby a few years back and I never expected to receive this award. And all those times I have dedicated to work hard for the team have enabled me to receive this.”

Hailing from Batiki in Lomaiviti, Radrodro dedicated his achievements to his parents and will continue playing for the Stallions until he achieves his target of overseas rugby contract.

Chief Guest at the ceremony, the Attorney General, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum commended the effort shown by the Nadroga Rugby Union over the past three years.

Meanwhile, Esala Nauga collected the award for the ‘Coach of the Year’ award and lock forward, Sekonaia Kalou took the ‘Skipper Cup competition Player of the Year’ award.
