November 6, 2012 11:59 pm

The Fiji Rugby Union is believed to have filed a complaint with its French counterparts over the withdrawal of Jone Qovu from the Europe tour.

The Independent Newspaper reports the French Rugby Union have received a complaint against Metro.

It reports Qovu pulled out of the Fiji squad – who face England at Twickenham on this weekend – late last month, but went on to play for his club against Perpignan in the Top 14

This is the latest allegations following claims made by former Racing Metro coach Simon Mannix.

Mannix, yesterday, claimed the Metro paid Qovu, Sireli Bobo, and Josh Matavesi, not to play for Fiji at last year’s Pacific Nations Cup, which in turn ruled them out of the World Cup.

Meanwhile, the International Rugby Board says it will not be making any comment on the allegations.

IRB Oceania General Manager William Glenwright says they do not have a comment to make as they are currently exploring the matter further and will make a comment at a later date.

The Fiji Rugby Union has also said it will not comment on the matter as yet.
