Vodafone Fiji 7s rep Jone Qorovarua will be one player to watch out for when the Dubai 7s kicks-off next weekend.
National coach Ben Ryan says the 23 year old has been knocking on selection doors for a while with some powerhouse performances for Yamacia in local and international tournaments.
‘’Jone can play wing, hooker or rover. We’re looking at playing at hooker predominantly as that’s where he played for Yamacia in the Coral Coast 7s. Strong game, about 96 kilograms, very quick and he was the third highest in the fitness test, hitting high 21s’’.
Qorovarua and Amenoni Nasilasila will make their international debuts in Dubai next weekend.
The side had a training run this morning in Deuba and will undergo a final gym session this afternoon before departing tomorrow.
Fiji is pooled with Argentina, France and Brazil.
The national side will take on France in its opening pool game at 6:40pm next Friday and you can watch it live on FBC TV.
