The much anticipated heavyweight title clash between champion, Petero Qica and contender, Napoleon Taumoepeau ended in disappointment in Nadi last night, after the former failed to turn up.

Boxing fans were turned away angry and demanded a refund after Qica’s manager produced a medical certificate for a leg injury, preventing the title holder from participating in the main bout of the Wild West Boxing program.

Fight promoter, Abdul Khan has called on the Boxing Commission of Fiji to strip Qica off the title for failing to turn up last night.
