Gloucester’s director of rugby Nigel Davies has confirmed the release of their flanker, Akapusi Qera to join the Flying Fijians ahead of Sunday’s clash with England.
Qera has been in sparkling form for Gloucester in recent weeks and was named man of the match in the recent win over the Leicester Tigers.
Following injuries to fellow Flying Fijians – Waisea Nayacalevu and Sakiusa Matadigo, the Fiji Rugby Union immediately requested Qera’s services.
Davies says they under the current IRB regulations in these circumstances, releasing Qera to play for his country is a must.
Qera will only be available to play for England at 3.30am on Sunday and will then return to the club.
