Minister for Youth and Sports, Laisenia Tuitubou says preparations are well on track to host the Super Rugby clash between the Chiefs and Crusaders in Suva.
Tuibubou says a substantial amount of money has been put aside for the much anticipated match.
“The game is being funded through a Government funding of $2.3 million, which will meet costs related to team guarantees, accommodation and travel costs. In addition, Fortress Information System is sponsoring $1 million as corporate sponsorship for the event and we thank them for the sufficient contribution.”
This is the second time a Kiwi franchise will stage a match outside a SANZAR country after the Crusaders played the Sharks in London in 2011, following the Christchurch earthquake.
The Chiefs versus Crusaders match will be staged at ANZ Stadium on July 1st.
