Fiji Bati are training well ahead of their Oceania Cup match against Papua New Guinea this Saturday.

The Bati won their first match of the Oceania Cup after they defeated Toa Samoa 44-18 last weekend.

Coach Brandon Costin says winning does not give confidence.

He says preparation plays the biggest role for any team.

“Once you know you’ve done the work and you’ve done all your homework, and you’re absolutely the best-prepared team that you can be, that’s what builds confidence. That’s what we did last week and that’s what we have to replicate this week.”

Fiji will take on Papua New Guinea at 4.20pm this Saturday. A win for Fiji would mean that they can play against Tier 1 Nations from next year.
