Prasad hopes to make a comeback

February 15, 2016 6:12 pm

Defending Champion Calvin Prasad hopes to be back in business after a break from longer formats of chess since 2015.

Prasad is one of the top bets for this weekend’s Kundan Singh Chess Championships.

However, elite players like Manoj Kumar, Noel Adricula, Ronald Terubea, Anthony Maelasi, Tianata Terubea, Keez Terubea, Zen Borg, Menash Fareed, Goru Arvind and Russell Talonga will be weary of Fiji’s top ranked playe.

Hilda Vukikomoala is expected to provide a strong challenge to female players like Gloria Sukhu, Sugandha Goswami, Kabrina Terubea and Tanvi Prasad in the women’s division.

Members of the public who know competitive chess are most welcome to participate in the event which starts at 9am this Sunday at the Tappoo City conference Hall in Suva.
