Poor start for Fijian Table Tennis players

October 24, 2017 4:32 pm

The Fiji-Pacific table tennis team had a poor start yesterday in the ITTF World Cadet Challenge at the Vodafone Arena in Suva.

Both the girl’s and boys’ team failed to win any of their matches, going down 5- nil to the Hopes team in the girls’ division and losing out to North America 5-0 in the boys’ competition.

However, Fiji Table Tennis President Anthony Ho says despite this, the tournament started on a high note and intense competition is expected over the coming days.

“This is the first round and as the days go by, the competition is going to get tougher especially when you get to the final and so we’ll see some spectacular table tennis over the next two days leading up to the team’s final today.”

The ITTF World Cadet Challenge continues today.
