Police Blues crowned Escortt Shield champions

The Police Blues have defended the Suva Rugby Unions Escortt Shield title after beating Navy 27-24 in the final at Albert Park in Suva.

The side was trailing 17-14 at the half time mark and came fired in the second spell to the match.

Police Blues coach Solomoni Nute says the players were given a simple message at the break which they did delivered in the last half an hour of the game.

“I think the message I gave to the boys was to keep it tight, keep the ball amongst the forwards and when there is flanker wide down then we go outside.”

Meanwhile, RKS Old Boys won the Koroturaga Shield beating Nasinu 17-15 in the final earlier in the day.
