August 25, 2018 4:35 am

Police Blues are the team to beat in the Escort Shield semi-finals after thrashing Savura 33-3 in the quarter-finals at the Bedesi Grounds today.

Police dominated their opponents in every facet of the game with a brick wall defence that kept their opponents from crossing their try line.

In the other quarter finals results Covenant Blues edged the Nabua rugby team 12-11, while the Navy rugby team beat Regent Breakthrough 22-15 and Army Green beat the Queen Victoria School Old Boys rugby team 17-8 to be in the final four.

Police Blues will take on Covenant Brothers in the first semi-final of the Escort Shield while the Navy Rugby Team will battle it out with rivals Army Green in the second semi-final match.

The semi-finals will be held next week Saturday.

Meanwhile in Fiji’s oldest rugby competition, the Ratu Kadavulevu School Old Boys have become hot favourites for the Koroturaga Cup after running rampant against the Namuka-i-Lau rugby team 40-14 in the quarter-finals this afternoon.

The RKS old boys dominated the set pieces which proved to be the difference in the game as their structured attacks proved too much for the Namuka-i-Lau rugby team.

In the other quarter-finals the Nasinu Rugby team beat Darnivalu Sharks 12-9 while Police White edged Army Red 15-12 and the Fire Wardens Rugby Team takes the final semi-final spot beating the USP side 29-19.
Next week’s semi-final fixtures sees favourites RKSOB’s play Police White while Army Red meets the Fire Wardens.
