Defending champions, the Papua New Guinea Cricket team is back to finish on top and defend its title in the ICC Men’s World T20 – East Asia Pacific qualifier which starts this weekend.

Head Coach Joe Dawes says they have been working hard on all aspects of the game and are eager to get into the field and put into play what they have been working on.

“The boys have been working hard and we’ve done a lot in their fitness and their strength and some skills stuff and we’re looking forward to the weekend to get out and play with the new toys in placed in the game.”
He says the team has also been working to get accustomed to playing on an artificial pitch again.
The qualifying tournament starts on Saturday at Suva’s Albert Park and ends next Thursday.
