Vodafone Flying Fijians players that feature in the Pacific Nations Cup next month will not be guaranteed a spot in the Rugby World Cup squad.
National coach, John McKee laid down the challenge to players in the 50-member squad that was announced earlier this month for the PNC as well the World Cup in England.
“Just because players are in the Pacific Nations Cup squad doesn’t mean they are in the World Cup squad. We will be monitoring their form and fitness and other things before we announce our World Cup squad in August.”
The Flying Fijians will host the Maori All Blacks at the ANZ Stadium in Suva on July 11th with the PNC opener against Tonga to be held a week later at the same venue.
McKee will trim the Flying Fijians squad to 40 players at the end of the week.
