Fiji Airways men’s 7s coach Gareth Baber is calling on the current national players to discuss about their future if they are being offered overseas contracts.
Baber says around four players from the current Fiji 7s team have been offered contracts.
He adds that the main issue is when players take up their overseas contracts in the last minute.
“I’m aware that there is interest on three or four players from overseas clubs. It will be wrong of me comment on who those be on this point in time. But I don’t want anything hidden, I want them to be out and if we build an environment which is underpinned by trust, we can do something about that. The issue that we had in the past is the players have left the eleventh hour.”
Meanwhile, Fiji 7s winger, Eroni Sau is the only confirmed player who has joined French Top 14 club Perpignan.
