Players reminded on the significance of sevens in Fiji

The Fiji Airways National Sevens Team were reminded by their coach Gareth Baber on the importance of sevens rugby in Fiji.

Baber says the players have been working hard during training and need the support of the nation this weekend.

“The players need to understand the importance of representing a nation especially in sevens for Fiji, we talk a lot and I tell them the importance of discipline and how it and help the performance of the team.”

Fiji is pooled with New Zealand, Samoa and Russia in Sydney.

They kick off their campaign against Samoa at 8.28pm on Friday.

The side then plays Russia at 5.09pm on Saturday before facing New Zealand at 8.42pm.

The Cup quarter-final kicks off at 12.28pm on Sunday, semi-final begins at 6.36pm and the final is schedule for 9.48pm.
