It has been noted by the Fiji Airways Men’s 7s coach Gareth Baber that his players play well when under pressure.

Baber says people expect a lot from the players, and despite being pressured, they deliver well.

“What I’ve seen from our group of players, when they are being put under pressure, so many times this year, they actually have responded. And the response is being a quiet confidence in the way they play the game and the ability to play right until the last second.”

Baber says they need to put the extra work to come out victorious as other teams will be out in their best performance.

Meanwhile, South Africa’s Captain Philip Snyman says they are going in as underdogs and it’s not the end for them.

“We going in as underdog and that’s what people already think as Fiji has won the sevens that’s one thing that we focus on, yes you want to win the cup, yes you want to lift trophies but at the end of the day for us it’s our team culture to live that not only on the field but also off the field.”

Fiji takes on England in the first quarter final at 8.13 pm tonight.

Meanwhile, in other matches Ireland takes on Canada at 8.35pm, USA will meet New Zealand at 8.57pm while South Africa battles Spain at 9.19pm.
